Vitality & Wellness Coaching

A program built for you — by a panel of sixteen experts

Answer a short questionnaire about your goals, your history, your health and your week. A panel of strength coaches, sports scientists and nutrition experts — modeled on the people who run NFL and NBA weight rooms and the university labs behind them — designs your training program and your nutrition numbers. How it works

Not a template. A case conference.

Most online programs pick one of a few templates for you. Here, a panel of experts each look at your answers from their own discipline, argue it out, and a quality auditor recomputes every number before anything reaches you.

You answer the questionnaire

Goal, training history, a standard health screen, injuries and limitations, your schedule and equipment, recovery, and how you eat. About eight minutes.

The specialists analyze — in parallel

Hypertrophy, periodization, biomechanics, aging and joints, protein and muscle metabolism, energy balance, supplements, and a clinical screen. Each writes a brief.

The head coach drafts, the panel critiques

A draft program goes back to every specialist. They say what must change and why, citing the research. The head coach rules on disagreements.

The auditor checks the math

Weekly sets per muscle, session length, progression rules, protein per meal, calories, sodium. Nothing ships until it passes. Then it's emailed to you.

The panel

Sixteen experts. One program.

Each coach is modeled on a real credential profile and cites the published research of the labs behind it — the same science the best performance staffs in the country work from.

The training panel

Runs like the performance staff of a pro team: a head coach, seven specialists, and an auditor.

  • Head Coach — Director of PerformanceRuns the panel, drafts the program, makes the final call
  • Hypertrophy PhysiologistSets, reps, effort and weekly volume for muscle growth
  • Periodization StrategistHow the weeks and blocks build, peak and unload
  • Biomechanics SpecialistExercise selection that fits your joints and equipment
  • Longevity & Aging SpecialistWhat changes after 50: recovery, tendons, power, balance
  • Sports Physical TherapistWorks around injuries; sets the movement red lines
  • Recovery & Readiness ScientistSleep, stress and wearable data → how hard to push each day
  • Sports DietitianFueling the training itself
  • Quality AuditorRecomputes every number before the program ships
Nutrition science · 7 experts

The nutrition panel

Muscle-first, protein-anchored. Modeled on the dietitians and researchers behind performance nutrition for pro teams and the science of aging muscle.

  • Head of Nutrition — Director of Performance NutritionSets the brief, chairs the panel, signs the plan
  • Protein & Muscle Metabolism ScientistYour protein target, per-meal dose and timing
  • Energy Balance & Body Composition PhysiologistCalories, the rate of change, and the two-week adjustment rule
  • Nutritional BiochemistSupplements that earn a place — and the ones that don't
  • Clinical & Metabolic Health DietitianScreens conditions and medications; sets the safety boundaries
  • Chef / Meal ArchitectMenus, recipes and grocery lists you'll actually use (Max)
  • Nutrition Quality AuditorEvery day's protein, calories and sodium, recomputed
The science

Where the panel's knowledge comes from

The coaches are credential archetypes, not impersonations. They cite the published work of the research groups that defined modern strength and nutrition science — and a change to any rule has to come with a paper.

  • Training volume, effort and frequency: Schoenfeld (Lehman/CUNY), Zourdos (FAU), the East Tennessee State block-periodization lineage (Stone), and the NSCA's position statement on resistance training for older adults (Fragala 2019).
  • Protein and muscle: Phillips (McMaster), Wolfe and Paddon-Jones (UTMB/Arkansas), van Loon (Maastricht), Layman and Burd (Illinois) — the labs behind the 1.6–2.2 g/kg protein range and the higher per-meal dose older muscle needs.
  • Energy balance and body composition: Hall (NIH), Helms (AUT), Garthe (Norwegian Olympic Sports Centre).
  • Supplements and clinical boundaries: the ISSN position stands, PROT-AGE and ESPEN guidelines for older adults, DASH and ADA nutrition consensus.
The rule the whole system is built on Muscle is the organ of longevity. Every program protects or builds it, and protein is set first — about one gram per pound of the bodyweight you want to be — before anything else is decided.

Questions

Good to know

Is this medical advice?

No. It's coaching. The questionnaire includes the standard pre-exercise health screen every good coach uses; if it raises a flag, the panel holds your program until you confirm a physician has cleared you for vigorous exercise. Your physician outranks anything the panel says.

How is this different from the free programs already on the site?

Those are excellent general templates. This one is built from your answers — your joints, your equipment, your week, your goal — and the numbers are recomputed for you by the auditor. If you have an old shoulder, a three-day week and a home gym, the program knows.

What if my situation changes?

Free programs are built once. Max members check in every two weeks and the panel re-plans monthly — calories, volume, exercises — from what actually happened.

Who's behind it?

Steve Main — 40 years running gyms, owner of Parkway Athletic Club, author of Stronger After 50 — set the standard the panel works to and reviews its output. The panel does the analysis; Steve keeps it honest.
